(7/19/2008) John Lennon's childhood will be the subject of a movie now being written, reports the BBC and the UK Metro. "Nowhere Boy," the story of John's childhood growing up with his Aunt Mimi and based on the book "Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon" by his half-sister, Julia Baird, is being written by award-winning screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh, the winner previously of a Bafta Award for "Control," the biofilm about Joy Division's Ian Curtis. The project, one ofseven projects given lottery-funded development grants by the UK Film Council, will be produced by Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae for Ecosse Films.
