I have more information about the "Anna Julia" recording. The Los Hermanos producer, Alex Werner, confirmed me by e-mail today (August 20th) that the song "Anna Julia" (where Harrison played his slide guitar) was really recorded this year. But unfortunately, he didn't mention the date. Other good news: the official website of Jim Capaldi informs actually also that the videoclip was done in June of 2001. George Harrison didn't appear on it.

Also, news revealed in the official website of Jim Capaldi that he was interviewed Aug. 15th on "The Steve Wright Show" on Radio 2 in England. They played the single "Anna Julia".

The TV program "Fantįstico" of TV Globo in Brazil exhibited the videoclip of "Anna Julia" with Jim Capaldi's version for the first time Sunday night. George Harrison doesn't appear on the videoclip. He is still recovering himself from the cancer treatment. Before the exhibition of the videoclip, the program featured a little interview with Jim Capaldi. The Traffic ex-drummer was in his garden's home where we can see a bit of George's home. The journalist Beth Lima carried out the interview:

Q: Why "Anna Julia"?
A: Because it is simply and unprententions. It reminds us the old Beatles songs.
Q: Why George Harrison?
A: Well, "Anna Julia" has Beatles vibrations.

In the end of the TV report the own "Anna Julia" appeared. The famous girl exists. She lives here in Rio de Janeiro. "I get emotioned every time that I listen "Anna Julia", she said. She feels herself proud with the new recording made by Jim Capaldi, George Harrison, Paul Weller and Ian Paice. Marcelo Camelo, the leader of Los Hermanos, found inspiration in real facts to compose the song. Los Hermanos producer, Alex, didn't have courage to declare all his love for Anna Julia. So he asked to his friend Marcelo writes a music about this situation.

Marcelo Camelo, the leader of Brazilian group Los Hermanos, told the journalist Bernardo Araśjo of the Brazilian newspaper O GLOBO yesterday how the contact between them and Jim Capaldi. began. He loved the music and wanted to include an English version of "Anna Julia" on his next album",said Marcelo Camelo who composed "Anna Julia". "I thought it is great, but I didn't know that he intended to invite Harrison to record it", added Marcelo. Around two months ago, the ex-drummer of Traffic called a phone to him from England saying that George Harrison has joined himself also on the recording. "I couldn't believe soon", he said. "Anna Julia" continued playing a lot in the radio stations from Brazil in 2000, reaching the number one in several hit parades. Maybe because it sounds like the first Beatles rock'n'roll songs, Jim Capaldi has chosen George Harrison to play guitar on the track. The lyrics of the song tells the story of a boy who tries to reacquires of all ways his love for a girl. She is "Anna Julia".

You can hear "Ana Julia" here (not the Harrison version) here.
