  • Bob Dylan's son, Jesse, will direct the new music video for Yusuf Islam’s forthcoming single, "Boots & Sand" that features contributions by Paul and others, the singer's website reports. The song is is a satirical look at the controversy surrounding Islam's deportation from the U.S. in 2004. The video, being shot in the Californian desert, will be out in January, the site says.     (8/10/2008) Yusef Islam, the former Cat Stevens, has revealed on his site that he invited Paul McCartney to sing with him on a newly recorded track called "Boots & Sand" at a London recording session recently. The site describes the song as "written by Yusuf about the 'No-Fly List' saga when, together with his daughter, he was refused entry to the USA in 2004. Drawing on diametric influences from Nashville and Liverpool-rock sounds, Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss and Terry Sylvester also feature on what promises to be a classic." (Thanks to C.D.)
