THE TORNADOES -- 'THE VERY BEST OF THE TORNADOES"; THE CHAMPS -- "TEQUILA -- THE BEST OF THE CHAMPS"; THE TROGGS AND SPECIAL GUESTS -- "ATHENS, GEORGIA AND BEYOND"; THE EVERLY BROTHERS -- THIS IS THE EVERLY BROTHERS: 16 OF THEIR GREATEST RECORDINGS (Music Club) These four releases from the first groups of discs by Music Club, a new entry in the American reissue scene, are a varied lot. Our favorite is the Champs' disc, which collects 18 of the group's Latin-flavored instrumentals, along with some detailed liners from Brownsville Station's Cub Koda. (Did you know that Glenn Campbell, Seals and Croft, and members of Hal Blaine's Wrecking Crew and Gene Vincent's Blue Caps were all members of the group at one time?) If you like "Tequila," there's plenty more where that came from. Just behind that is the Tornadoes' disc, which features 15 cuts, and liners with a history of the group and its producer, Joe Meek. The Troggs' disc features the entire "Athens Andover" album, which includes members of R.E.M, plus bonus tracks from earlier Troggs albums. Even if this isn't their best stuff, Reg Presley still sounds as lecherous as he did on "Wild Thing," Finally, there's the Everlys disc, which is a concise best of the best, plus one track, "I'm Here To Get My Baby Out of Jail," that fits in nicely.
