THE SEARCHERS -- MEET THE SEARCHERS & SOUNDS LIKE SEARCHERS (Mobile Fidelity): As a follow-up to their first Searchers release (see review below), Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs has just released this new twofer and it's even better than the first. It includes a number of songs Searchers fans will recognize -- "Sweets For My Sweet", "Bumble Bee," "Farmer John", "Tricky Dicky" and most importantly, "Love Potion No. 9," one of their earliest American hits. All the tracks are the mono mixes, which, for the most part, haven't been available since the original vinyl records were issued. The CD booklet also contains the original album liner notes. Castle Communications, which has issued other British Searchers discs, has issued "Meet the Searchers" on CD, but we know of none for "Sounds Like...", so Mobile Fidelity is doing a tremendous service by issuing this CD. Keep 'em coming, MFSL. (April '97)
