May 23: George Harrison starts his own record company, Dark Horse.
Nov. 2-Dec. 30: George Harrison tours North America, accompanied by a band that includes Billy Preston, Tom Scott, Robben Ford, Jim Horn and Willie Weeks. Bootleg recordings from the tour reveal Harrison's voice is terrible shape, sounding quite hoarse.
Dec. 16: Harrison, his father, Ravi Shankar, Billy Preston and Jim Keltner have lunch with President Gerald Ford at the White House.
