Jan. 5-March 31: Harrison records tracks for "Cloud Nine," his most recent album,which is released on Oct. . Songs include "When We Was Fab," a tribute to the Beatles. The album is released on Nov. 2.
Feb. 19: A seemingly quiet nightclub performance by Taj Mahal at North Hollywood's Palomino Club turns into a superstar jam session when George Harrison, John Fogerty and Bob Dylan join the band on stage. The group plays as if they're jamming for themselves, performing all rock classics. Among the songs Harrison sings are Dylan's "Watching the River Flow" and Little Richard's "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," which the Beatles had covered in the '60s.
June 5-6: George Harrison and Ringo Starr perform at the Prince's Trust Rock Gala in the UK. Harrison performs "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Here Comes the Sun" by himself and, with Ringo Starr, backs Ben E. King on the finale, "Stand By Me."
